Day 50

Rest day/ Travel day

It really is a challenge to keep up with your exercise routine while traveling, and especially so when there is a time difference in destination (in this case 5 hours ahead)  Your body gets out of sync, and you battle fatigue.

Over the years, I have traveled to England about 34 times.  I have developed a system for workouts while traveling, that I use when I travel to other places.

I first of all set a workout schedule for myself for when I am in destination.  This of course is subject to change, and according to how tired I might feel, but it is helpful to set the routine.  Then I plan how I will achieve that routine.  This time, I brought resistance bands with me.  They are lightweight and easy to pack.  I also packed a jump rope for some different cardio.  I have a running route that I have had for years that is a 2 mile route.

Having set this up, I can relax knowing I can still maintain my goals.  If for some reason I can’t achieve a particular workout on any given day, I don’t stress.  I enjoy what I am doing, and resolve to get a workout in on another day.

Never leave it to chance.  Have a clear plan of action, and you will feel a lot better, and end up maintaining your routine so much more easily and consistently.
