Next step

Well I’ve started the next phase of my cancer journey:  Radiation treatments.  I started a 3 week treatment plan, M-F, and completed 1 week so far.  All is good, and I’m taking it one step at a time.

Radiation is done to prevent local recurrence in the breast.  I will admit, I got freaked out an panicky the first couple of treatments (they only last about 5 min) because the thought of radiation going into my body was very scary.

Now I feel more comfortable, although I don’t like it and can’t wait to be done.  The staff is wonderful and they do all they can to make me feel safe and secure.

Life is funny.   We think we have so much in control and at the end of the day, we don’t at all!  At any time, something comes along and disrupts our carefully laid plans.

Exercise has been a crucial part of my recovery and now getting me through the next parts.  It brings calmness, strength and energy.  I don’t know what I would do without it!
