Exercise to Beat the Sugar Cravings
Exercise can be a crucial tool for overcoming sugar cravings. It doesn’t have to be an hour long workout, it can be a 15 minute walk. The next time you feel a craving coming on, go for a walk, pick up some weights, or do an exercise video. Any of the above, will soon have you victorious over the cravings.
Why does exercise help so much? Because when you exercise, your body produces endorphins, which give you the sense of well being. In addition, your seratonin levels rise, which leads to calm, good feelings. Sugar can also produce this, however with a drawback: later on you will experience a “crash” which leads to fatigue, irritability, depression and more cravings! Instead, the next time you feel a craving, don’t reach for the sugar: put on your sneakers and go for a quick walk. Then you will have the good feelings without the side effects! And you will feel like an overcomer instead of defeated.
