FULL SPEED AHEAD

What is the purpose of a rearview mirror?  When driving, it allows you to see things behind you.  When backing up, it allows you to see any obstacles that might be in your way.  It is a very useful tool in the car.

HOWEVER:

What don’t you see when using it?  You don’t see the road ahead.

What would happen if you only drove looking in the rearview mirror?

  • You wouldn’t get anywhere
  • You would be focused on what’s behind you
  • You would only see YOURSELF
  • You would have to go backwards to get anywhere

Many of us operated as if we only have a rearview mirror.  We constantly look behind, in the past, and are stuck where we are.  If we apply this to the fitness realm, looking in the rearview mirror, or essentially living in the past, keeps us stuck right where we are.  We are unable to move forward, instead, constantly reliving past defeats, struggles, and failures.  We only see ourselves and our inadequacies, and we can’t move forward.  We can’t progress or achieve our goals.

STOP LOOKING IN THE REARVIEW MIRROR!  Look AHEAD to the road in front of you.  This is the only way you will be able to move forward and start living victoriously.

HOW?

  1. Have a solid plan of action
  2. Refuse to focus on past defeats
  3. See yourself as successful instead of defeated
  4. Embrace change and don’t be afraid to try
