What triggers your sugar cravings?
I have been off sugar for 2 weeks now. By that I mean, I am avoiding refined sugar that you find in drinks, desserts, candy etc. I am a HUGE candy lover and it’s a struggle for me to stay away from it. I’ve done well these past 2 weeks and it hasn’t been too bad…until I walked into a CVS the other day and forgot how they put out their Valentine’s Day candy at 50% off!!! In the past, I would have splurged on this little goodie. But surprisingly, I was able to sail by and not feel any cravings at all!
What’s your sugar trigger? It’s important to be able to identify that in order to be prepared and handle the cravings when the trigger occurs. Are you triggered by seeing sugar? By any emotions such as anger, happiness, etc. ? Boredom? When you figure out what your sugar trigger is, you are better equipped to deal with the trigger or to avoid it all together.
